Thank you for your interest in Rooftop School!
Our tours are designed to give you a real feel for the school. We hope you’ll get a sense of what it’s like to be a child in our classrooms, halls, yards, and programs, and whether Rooftop is a good fit for your family.
Our school has two campuses: Twin Peaks, which houses grades TK through 4, and Mayeda for grades 5 through 8. All tours will begin with an information session on the Twin Peaks campus, and then split into groups that will tour either the Twin Peaks or Mayeda Campus.
To accommodate schedules of families and caregivers, we offer tours at varying days and times; we hope you can find a day and time that works for you!

There’s no need to register or sign up, just swing on by 443 Burnett Ave on one of the listed dates!

Rooftop School Tours Video
Please note that our tours are designed for adults only. Babies are okay, but please bring toddlers and preschoolers only if you truly have no other option. We appreciate your cooperation.
Twin Peaks campus tours will include:

A brief information session and Q&A

Smaller group tours led by current Rooftop caregivers that make sure you see:

One kinder classroom

One mid-level classroom (1st or 2nd grade)

One upper-level classroom (3rd or 4th grade)

Garden

Sensory Motor room

Art supply closet (surprised you there, didn’t we?)

Although we've been sure to avoid street sweeping days, please leave plenty of time to find parking (or consider taking the 37, 33, or 48 bus).
Middle school: Caregivers interested in learning more about grades 5 through 8 will attend the info session on the Twin Peaks campus and then walk (for about five minutes) with a Rooftop parent to the Mayeda campus. Children over the age of 9 may accompany their adults on these tours.
Note: After tour season, we can’t accommodate individual tour requests due to the number of people who want to visit Rooftop School and the disruption tours cause to learning.

There are three ways to access the Rooftop Twin Peaks Campus:

a staircase that starts at the intersection of Corbett Ave. and Romain St.,
-
a driveway that begins at 795 Corbett Ave., and
-
a set of stairs running down from Burnett Ave. through a wooded area.
Tour groups will meet in the Multipurpose Room (MPR) that is on the second floor of the main school building. Greeters will be present at the school entrances to help you find your way!
