Why We Raise Funds

​

The educational opportunities at Rooftop go far beyond the basics and cost a lot more than the limited programming funds accessible via the California state budget alone.  Rooftop PTA resources support:

​

  • Instructors for garden, STEAM, sensory motor, library

  • Reduced math class sizes in 8th grade

  • Outdoor Education Trips for 5th, 6th, and 8th graders

  • Our art-education program including a stipend for the Art Coordinators and Artist in Residence

  • Supplementary educational materials

  • Mindfulness/Social Emotional Learning Programs

  • Extra yard staff, school supplies, teacher stipend for the classrooms, and much more

To maintain the quality and depth of the programs at our school we need the support of our entire school community to raise significant funds during the school year.

How We Raise Funds

  • Rooftop Run, Read-a-Thon, and Auction: We have three fundraising events involving our community: The Rooftop Run (all are welcome) in the fall, the Read-a-Thon (students), and the Auction gala (adults only). These events, which rely on many parent volunteers to organize and run, raise significant funds per year toward PTA-sponsored programs.

  • Direct Giving: We also have an Annual Fund drive, and you can participate through a one-time donation or through regular monthly contributions. Contribute today!

  • Corporate Matching: Many employers will match your donation to the PTA. Check with your company’s human resources department to see if they have, or are willing to start, a matching gifts program.

  • Shop & Earn:  Earn money for Rooftop by participating in community give-back programs like those at Rainbow Grocery and Sports Basement. A generous percentage of your purchases are donated to Rooftop, with no extra cost to you. You can also buy gift cards from the PTA to Canyon Market. Sign up for eScrip and earn money for Rooftop via purchases at markets like Gus’s Community Markets and Mollie Stone’s.  Learn More

  • Dine out For Rooftop: Throughout the year different local restaurants donate a percentage of your restaurant tab when you mention Rooftop during special Dine out for Rooftop Days. Check ParentSquare for updates.

  • Rooftop Swag: Check out our fantastic Swag Store and/or look for PTA volunteers selling swag at our community events. Fulfillment is bimonthly and (for the moment) local. Earn PTA funds for the school while you sort out holiday/birthday gifts!
