On Thursday 4/30, a cadre of volunteers (both parent, and folks from SalesForce and RMC Water and Environment Engineering) joined together to start construction of our very cool Maker Shed on the roof of the Mayeda campus!
This Maker Shed is just the first piece of a long-term plan to develop the roof of the Mayeda campus to enhance hands-on student learning, maximize space, and to help “green” and beautify the campus.
Thanks to Rooftop parent and landscape architect Martine Paquin, we have an amazing design plan for the roof at the Mayeda campus! This design includes student workspaces covered with canvas sail fabric, a garden area, maker tables and benches, an architectural-grade glass panel for enhanced city and bay views, and increased electrical outlets. SFUSD contributed and installed a stainless steel work sink.
