The date for this year’s Run is Sunday October 20th, 2013 at Kezar Stadium. The grassy triangle adjacent to the stadium is where we will be registering and having our picnic! I will be taking a tour of the facilities on Friday 9/20 so I will know better how to set up the event, but I do think this will be an amazing year!

I would also like to thank Maryann Ibrahim who has put together a packet to help us gather corporate or local business sponsors to donate to help front load the dollar amount of our annual take. Along with matching funds, the Run could conceivably make 100,000 this year, wouldn’t that be amazing! I am really pushing for higher attendance from our school this year because public transportation to Kezar Stadium is so very easy and accessible by the 71 and 33, 43, 37, 6 plus all the streetcar lines because the N Judah is just 3 blocks away. You could take the L or the K or the T or J and transfer to the N Judah to get you to the event.

I will be printing out the Run packets after I take this important tour on the 20th, so look for the Run Packets in your child’s backpack on Monday Sept 30th. In the meantime, all the documents for the packet like the sponsor letter or the pledge sheet are available for printing right now at rooftopk8.org; under the Fundraising tab you will find the Run Packet. The only new items to be include in the packet will be the Principal letter and the Kezar/MUNI Map.

I want to take this time to also say what I say all the time but I find so very important. It is not how much you donate, it is that you come to the event, meet some new people, bring your child to have fun, eat some delicious food and give whatever you can. Some families are comfortable with $100, some with $5 or $10 that’s OK we want everyone from Rooftop to come to the Run and enjoy the venue, the event and the company!
