Our apologies for the delay with the Rooftop Parent directory for 2011-12; our parent volunteers have been working many, many hours behind the scenes to not only enter the contact data Rooftop families provided at the beginning of the year, but also to groom all previous data to ensure that our directory content is completely up-to-date. We hope to have the directory available for distribution within 2-3 weeks, though before that we will be contacting each family individually to verify your contact information and sharing preferences.
The directory tech team has elected to migrate the parent directory – currently hosted on a Filemaker database – to a new, cloud-based system which will make our Rooftop Directory far more scalable and secure than in past years. The system we have selected is salesforce.com, and we anticipate being ready to launch within a couple of weeks.
Before proceeding, we are informing the community of this change in our hosting strategy & tools, since it is your contact information we are dealing with. We realize that you have placed your trust in the PTA when deciding to provide us with your contact information, so rest assured that the directory team’s top priority in handling this information is to keep your information secure, and shared with the community only to the extent that you have told us you want.
