Greetings Rooftop Family:
Congratulations to our Rooftop community for being broadcast on KPIX television and featured as a “Cool School!” Does that make me a cool principal, then? On second thought, let’s leave that as a rhetorical question.
We were so proud of all of our African-American scholars who represented Rooftop at the annual African-American Honor Roll celebration last week. In addition, we were delighted by the wonderful assembly last Friday which featured: poetry, dance, history, oratory and song. Thank you to all of our students for preparing and performing. The AAPG (African-American Parent Group) was the driving force for this assembly and the Annual Movie Night on Friday night. Without their guidance, collaboration, dedication, coordination and mentorship, there could not have been the great success we experienced. Thank you all for your efforts behind the scenes to engage our community in the cultural beauty, elegance and sophistication that we all admired and enjoyed.
We hope to see many of you this week during parent-teacher conferences. Let’s all come together on March 11th and drum up the energy for the Rooftop auction. I promise to sing for my supper.
