It’s time for SSC Elections!
Thank you for your continued support of Rooftop Alternative School. We are currently seeking parents/guardians interested in becoming members of our School Site Council (SSC) or the English Learner Advisor Committee (ELAC), described in brief below. Each committee is composed of parents, teachers, staff and the administration. Interested parents are elected via ballot sent to the parent/guardian community in the Wednesday bulletin; the school’s Union Building Committee elects teachers and staff.
The School Site Council (SSC) collaborates to develop and implement Rooftop’s Academic Plan. This plan highlights the specific goals and activities for the school in the following areas: school safety; parent involvement; instructional practice; student equity; and academic achievement.
The English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC) advises the Principal and the School Site Council on how to address the issues of English Language Learners.
Members are asked to serve during the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 school years and will be meeting as a group every four to six weeks at a time yet to be determined.
If you would like to nominate yourself to serve on one of the committees mentioned above, so that you might be placed on a ballot, please sign below and return to the Rooftop Office by Weds, October 7, 2016.
