Our Pre-K program begins on Monday, March 10th. That’s right. Our doors are set to open for our youngest Rooftop students in a few days. Before then, we will be hosting an Open House for all families accepted in the program at 8:15 a.m. – 9:15 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, in Room 1. We likewise welcome our newest staff members: Elizabeth Maki (Gen Ed Pre-K teacher), Jeanna Twomey (SpEd Pre-K Teacher) and Monica Medoza (Gen Ed Pre-K para).
Members of the School Site Council attended the annual Summit at Everett MS last Saturday. We reviewed the community and staff input and started conversations on our BSC. The School Site Council meets at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow, March 6th, at the Burnett Library. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Over sixty of our middle school students attended the annual Unity Dance at the Hall of Flowers last Saturday, March 1st. It was an evening of wholesome fun for students from SFUSD K- 8 schools. Thanks to all parents who dropped off and picked up our youngsters on time. We hope that you will continue to support this event for all SFUSD K-8 schools’ middle school students. Until next year!
Mr. Khi, our custodian at Burnett, is retiring after twenty-seven years of service at SFUSD / Rooftop. His last day is going to be on Tuesday, March 11th. We wish him well on his retirement.
The Auction is happening in no time at all. If you have not registered yet, please do so at www.auction.rooftopk8.org as soon as possible. A copy of the registration form will also go out with this week’s bulletin. We hope that you are able to join the Rooftop community in yet another celebration of student art and Rooftop spirit.
