On Wednesday the Mayeda campus had a dynamic music assembly with Marcus Shelby and some of his colleagues around “Green and the Blues: Birth of Cool”. This was a great culmination of the lessons the 6th, 7th and 8th grade classes have had with Marcus in integrating music with our present necessity for sustainability. Along with Marcus was the dynamic Anthony Peterson aka Tru and the extraordinary Tiffany Martin, who thrilled our students with their beautiful voices and strings!
This was a great start to the upcoming North Star Project student performance in 2 weeks on January 18th! 6th, 7th, and 8th grade will be performing at a Mayeda assembly during the day at 12:10 and at night for the community at 7pm. Students have been working on the NSP to give musical and dramatic expression to their theme of sustainability for our earth. Through the study with Marcus Shelby, students have been encouraged to see how the “power of one” can be realized and that we can all make a change and difference!
All are welcomed to attend!
