The Auction is Rooftop’s big Spring fundraiser. Where the Run is a kid oriented, family day, the auction is a fabulous party for the parents and their friends to celebrate the school, enjoy extraordinary student art work, eat delicious food, and shop at bargain prices for fantastic goods and services. The auction’s primary goal is to raise money for the school.
Parents are what make this auction work. Parents help produce the spectacular art projects that make up the bulk of the live auction; parents make amazing food and set up and decorate the hall. Most importantly, parents obtain the donated items, such as gift certificates (for restaurants, hotels, personal services) … the backbone of the Auction. In 2010 we had over 1000 donated items and made over $145,000.
As the event nears, you will receive instructions on how to solicit donations from businesses and sign up for a volunteer job. Please expect to obtain at least two donations (more is better). If you have a connection for a particularly good donation (fancy hotel, restaurant, great vacation get-a-way), please let the auction staff know now. Don’t wait!
