To avoid delays, when submitting news & events for publication please ensure you indicate your desired communication method. The options include…
- WB, RA and website
- RA and website
- RA only
WB = paper Wednesday Bulletin
RA = emailed Rooftop Announcements
If selecting option 3 (RA-only), you have the option to send your content to a subset of the Rooftop community. If your content is meant for only a portion of the community (e.g., Kinder, 8th grade, Mayeda only, Burnett only, etc), please let us know.
Publication Guidelines
Submit all media, announcements and event information via email to email hidden; JavaScript is required
- WB: all material must be submitted by MONDAY 4PM for that week’s Wednesday Bulletin. Please allow time for possible edits.
- WB: Submit material for the current week only; do not submit items for future weeks’ bulletins
- RA/Website: announcements may be made at any time
- RA: if possible, identify your target audience (e.g., all Rooftop parents, only 6th & 7th grades, etc?)
- Include your contact information, in case there are any questions or concerns
- Rooftop administration will review all submissions to ensure they meet school & PTA guidelines
Blurbs, News & Events
- Blurbs meant for the WB should typically be no more than 3-5 sentences
- Space in the WB is limited, blurbs will be included on a first-come, first-served basis
Flyers & Inserts (WB only)
- Flyers must be submitted in electronic format; submit via email to email hidden; JavaScript is required for review (note the deadline above!)
- The author of the flyer – or a representative on their behalf – is required to make copies before Wednesday. Copies may be left on shelves in Mayeda Staff room marked “Wednesday Bulletin”. Tag your copies with the date for inclusion so things don’t get missed.
- The machine that is used for mass copying is in the staff room at the Mayeda campus. Please get instructions before using this machine; ask Rosalinda at the Mayeda office.
- All documents should already have been approved prior to copying.
- The author of the flyer, or a representative on their behalf, is required to be present at 8am on Wednesday morning in the Mayeda Staff room for bulletin assembly (from approx. 8am-9:30am)
What do we mean by “electronic format”?
Nothing too dramatic – you probably created the flyer in Word or another computer program … just send us that file. PDF format is preferred, if you can output that; if not, the original Word is fine.
If the original, electronic version of the flyer is not available, then please submit the paper copy the Mayeda office.
