With just a week before the big event, our Auction donated item count is still low: current count 870| Goal 1000. A low turn out and a reduced Auction revenue could mean drastic changes to the ways our children spend their days at Rooftop. Make a difference, demonstrate Rooftop Spirit and consider giving what you can:
* Donate/pledge items to the Auction – Email email@example.com or call 415.729.4581 to request a donation pick up.
* Online Giving – select option “donate without login”
* Fund a Need – support our Rooftop PTA sponsored programs:
* One Time Gift: Checks made payable to Rooftop PTA or cash in any amount may be sent to Rooftop Alternative School, attn: “Auction” at 443 Burnett Ave, SF, CA 94131.
* Give in Honor of a Student to celebrate a birthday, graduation or mark a special family occasion.
* Matching Gift – check with your employer’s HR department for eligibility requirements.
The printed catalog will be distributed this week to all who purchased and pre-registered before February 28. The back of the catalog will have your bidder number and are non-transferable as there are computer considerations attached to each number. Please take your catalog with you to the event. It will act as your bidding paddle. To shop our online catalog. Check back often as new items are added daily. Please be patient, due to the influx of late donations, we are behind on our inputting and editing.
Students, teachers, art parents and our Art Parent Coordinators have been working hard. Take a sneak peak at what your child and his/her classmates have created for the Auction here.
A big hug and a high five to all of you who have been helping our children with the classroom art projects, soliciting donations on behalf of Rooftop, donating, bringing in and picking up items, labeling and packing donation, inputting and editing data, and to all who have signed up for an auction job or are working behind the scenes. March 15th is going to be a fun night and together we will succeed because we come together as a community.
Need help securing childcare for auction night? I can help! I have compiled a list of 8th graders, Rooftop alumni, and experienced childcare providers who are ready and waiting for your call. Contact me for more info:

Need a sitter for the auction? Want to support a group of Rooftop Girl Scouts? Troop #30409 is composed of many 7th grade Rooftop girls, and is offering child-sitting services as a part of a money-earning event to support the troop’s upcoming Spring Break trip and service activities. Rooftop scouts will be offering (6) child sitting slots — each has (2) responsible middle school girls to watch and play with your kids in the comfort of your home. Suggested hourly rate is $10 for one child, $12.50 for two children, and $15 for three. All proceeds underwrite their troop activities. Scout transportation to and from your home will be provided by troop parents.
These girls all have babysitting training and experience, and are First Aid / CPR certified. To sign up or get more details, please contact troop mom Meesha Halm at firstname.lastname@example.org.
